As a countermeasure to the global climate crisis, the expansion of renewable energy is accelerating worldwide. To enhance the stability of power distribution systems with these new resources, various distributed generations (DGs) based on smart inverter have been widely introduced. However, the integration of DGs can increase the potential for high-level fault currents within the power distribution system. Superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) are effective countermeasure, as they are specifically designed to limit these fault currents and protect the grid. But, despite their benefits, the voltage drop caused by an SFCL's operations may prevent smart inverters from producing proper output power. Thus, this paper addressed the issue by analyzing the operation of smart inverter under various case studies, considering the SFCL's application location and Volt-Var curve. From the analysis, the influence of SFCL location on Volt-Var curve operation of smart inverter has been confirmed. Additionally, the impact of the reactive power output, which is determined by the curve, on the power burden of the SFCL has also been verified.
