Due to the arrival of integrated electronic appliances, an independently controlled multiple output DC-DC converter proto types have started to emerge in various forms because of their compact size and cheaper cost. However, the existing converter topologies are capable of regulating the outputs only with the help of auxiliary converter circuits and additional switches. The converter also fails to control all the outputs independently when the converter has more number of output stages than that of the peripheral switching/ linear regulators. Therefore, in this paper, a novel DC-DC converter prototype which can be utilized to construct independently-controlled multiple-output DC-DC converter topology with a single PWM signal driving the primary inverter switches is proposed. Using this technique, the system can be constructed to regulate an arbitrary number of the output voltages independently in real-time parallel power-processing even with a single PWM and a single full-bridge leading to the less number of switches comparing with the conventional multi-output systems. Feasibility, design challenges and practical considerations are discussed in this paper with a design example of independently controlled 4-output, 356W resonant converter system. IEEE
