Semantic Patent Analysis System Based on Big Data

Today, the interest in the intellectual property rights is increasing, and the importance of the patents, one of the intellectual properties, is especially growing. Because patents include a lot of technical information such as paper, many things could be obtained through a patent analysis. However, patents include a large amount of data and the number of patents continues to grow. In addition, each country provides different formats of data and most of them are semi-structured or unstructured so it is not easy to analyze them. Therefore, in this paper, a big data-based patent analysis system is proposed to analyze these data efficiently. The proposed system makes different formats of patent data into a common format by utilizing a big data technology and provides an environment to easily analyze the patent data. © 2017 IEEE.
