A study of measurement and deducing an opportunity of improvement for the knowledge management in a construction company

As construction market has been globalized, construction companies realized the necessity of security of competitiveness and service diversification and have sought their development by applying knowledge improvement system. However, construction companies have been so busy in accepting knowledge improvement system without establishment of elements and methodology of knowledge management. The companies haste caused the unproductive accumulation of knowledge. To pursue knowledge related to business process which satisfies knowledge management improvement, the continuous problem improvement through criterions of measuring knowledge improvement is required. For that purpose, this paper considers analyzed the elements of knowledge management and its criterions of measurement through case studies. Based on analysis, we settled extended criterions for 3rd knowledge management. We surveyed construction companies on the settled criterions and analyzed the result. Finally, we proposed the improvement methods.
