초록
The most fundamental issue in the ranging for wireless positioning is to obtain clock synchronization between the two nodes and to correct an error caused by the relative clock offset from each node. An error is created when measuring the distance between the two nodes due to the clock offset as each of the two nodes uses different clocks independently. This paper suggests a ranging technique that uses a common clock to solve the relative clock offset problem. Moreover, the procedure of synchronizing clocks can be dispensed with when measuring distance using the proposed method thanks to the usage of a common clock. The performance of the suggested system was confirmed by simulation and this new technique also turned out to have efficient ranging such as omission of the clock synchronization process and a smooth flow of the wireless positioning process. ©2010 IEEE.
