Oh, Choong-yeun. 2011. 11. The Syntactic Contents of Korean Grammatical Category eojeol : A Proposal of a Direction System. Korean Linguistics 53, 281-312. The Korean syntactic category eojeol is composed of lexical unit and a functional unit. Eomi(inflectional morpheme of verbs) and josa(inflectional morpheme of nouns), a functional unit of a phrase, are the head of eojeol. Eomi and josa function as an executor of a demand of an external category rather than as a governor of a phrase. Therefore, in Korean sentence, eojeol contains more grammatical contents beyond lexical and morphological feature.
