대학 영어 수업에서 실시된 세계 시민교육 프로젝트에 관한 학생의 경험과 인식 조사

초록

This case study explores students’ perceptions of the Global Citizenship Education (GCE) project incorporated into a general English class at a Korean college. In particular, the study examines how students perceive the project influences their sense of global citizenship and English learning experience. Thirteen college students participated in the GCE project for ten weeks during the spring semester of 2019, and data were collected through survey questionnaires before and after the project, email interviews, field notes, and documents (e.g., Twitter posts). The findings of this study show that the students responded positively to the project, perceiving that it improved their English learning experiences and helped them to have a better sense of global citizenship in terms of global awareness, global responsibility, and responsible action. The implications of the GCE project for English language classes are discussed.
