Identification of adult images through detection of the breast contour and nipple

To identify adult images, we propose a technique to detect naked breasts in an image using an average brightness filter and an improved 2D Hough transform. The proposed technique consists of two steps, training and identification. The training creates an average brightness filter using a set of breast and nipple images. The identification first extracts nipple candidates using the density and connectivity of edges and breast candidates using an improved 2D Hough transform and, then detects breasts based on the positional relations between the extracted nipple candidates and the detected breast candidates in the input image. Finally, the proposed technique determines whether the image is "adult" or not. Our experimental results demonstrate that the proposed technique can effectively identify various images of naked human bodies. Therefore, it can be used to detect pornographic images.
