Developmental characteristics of creative thinking ability and creative personality of elementary school children in South Korea

The purpose of this study was to investigate the developmental characteristics of creative thinking ability and creative personality of elementary school children in South Korea. 'The Integrated Creativity Test: For Elementary School Children' developed by the authors of [1] was used to measure the creative thinking ability and personality of children. The integrated creativity test items, which consisted of two parts - both creative thinking ability and creative personality test - were developed in South Korea and validated. 2,782 elementary school children participants, who were 6 to 11 years old, were randomly sampled nationwide in this study. The data were analyzed according to total scores and factor scores. The developmental trends of creativity were identified as the result of statistical analysis. It was thought that these results will give some implications to identify individual differences in creativity, giftedness and to develop educational programs for fostering children's creativity. © 2015 International Information Institute.
