초록

The ability of drones to reach previously inaccessible areas and to cover large areas offers great potential for monitoring systems. Despite the continuous advancement of technology, drone monitoring systems still face difficulties in terms of operating cost and battery capacity. Therefore, in order to fully exploit the utility of drones, it is necessary to optimize their monitoring schedule. In this paper, we address the drone scheduling problem in a multiple-drone monitoring system. To address the problem, we propose two mathematical formulations, namely the basic formulation and the network-based formulation. Through computational experiments, we show that the latter formulation performs significantly better in terms of solution time and LP relaxation bound. © ICIC International 2024.
