Major Issues in the Concept of Social Value

This study investigates the attributes of the concept of social value, using textual network analysis. The results show that the topic of social value, which is currently receiving a great deal of attention today, breaks into five topic groups. These topic groups are described with the keywords community and system. In attempts to solve the social value problem, whether in the public or the private sector, problems must be approached in a way that incorporates community perspectives; this entails that problems relating to social value must be solved with community-related institutions. A community is a space where its members give each other mutual consideration and provide a sense of community and a sense of unity. The social value problem is an important ideological issue, arising in the need to correct imbalances and reduce the gap between classes at times when social problems, such as imbalances of opportunity or of outcomes, arise. The community is a key element in the social value problem, so policymakers should consider various methods to strengthen the community.
