기후변화로 인한 노인 야외 스포츠 공간의 의미 변화: Lefebvre의 공간생산이론을 중심으로

This study explores how the socio-cultural meanings of outdoor sports spaces used by older adults are reconfigured under climate change—particularly heatwaves, cold spells, and fine particulate matter—drawing on Lefebvre's (1991) tripartite framework of the production of space and his contrast between abstract and differential space. A case study was conducted with ten older adults (five male, five female) aged 65 and over who had participated for at least three years in three outdoor sports clubs (gate ball, park golf, and tennis). Data were collected over 10 months through non-participant observation and semi-structured in-depth interviews, with two researchers coding the data independently and reaching agreement through consensus discussion (Cohen's κ = .78). Findings indicate that the socio-cultural meanings shifted toward (a) spaces in which everyday life is upheld against climate adversity, (b) spaces fragmented along seasonal-temporal lines, and (c) experiential spaces in which climate inequality becomes visible through facility disparities. In terms of Lefebvre's framework, spatial practice involved hierarchically distinguishable acts of adaptation, negotiation, and resistance; the representation of space was infiltrated by administrative and expert climate discourses (abstract space) and reshaped by infrastructural gaps; and the space of representation generated communal differential spaces of solidarity, mutual care, and creative play.
