인간과 컴퓨터의 상호작용적 예술에서 인간과 컴퓨터가 함께하는 행위에 관한 고찰

초록

This study explores the collaborative action of human and computer in the Human-computer Interactive Art. Especially, this approach focuses on the action itself. It implies that there is much to be gained from an analysis of action itself rather than a effect and result of it. The Human-Computer Interactive Art indicates an artwork performing action between human and computer. The collaborative action can be defined with a gardening as an aesthetic selection that reveals Nature. In the new media garden, the human and computer becomes a same gardener. With the development of technology, the high-level computer having an autonomy as an ability of self-determining can adapt to a special situation and even customize the human action. The autonomy deduces an eloquent collaborative action. It enhances the emergent behavior that is unexpectedly produced with self-organization in an absence of centralized control. The emergence means that the computer can act like an improvising artist in the collaborative action. Moreover, the autonomy and emergence marking a newness of the collaborative action leads us that the essential concept of Cybernetics involves with Human Use of Human Being as a reciprocal flow of two-way inter-action between human and computer. The collaborative action of human and computer in the Human-Computer Interactive Art also follows the logic, and thus improves a contemplative and communicative action as a nature of human activity. In other words, the ontological meaning of the collaborative action is not in the application of high-technology but the sustaining of contemplation and communication as a human condition.
