This paper consists of three parts: Annie Baird as missionary in Korea, an analysis of Daybreak in Korea: A Tale of Transformation in the Far East, and an examination of Ko Young Kyu Chun-Two Short Stories. First, Annie Baird (1864-1916) came to Korea in 1891 as missionary of the American Presbyterian Board with her husband, William M. Baird (1862-1931). And she died of cancer in 1916 in Korea. She wrote many valuable books, such as Fifty Helps for the Study of the Korean Language (1897), Daybreak in Korea: A Tale of Transformation in the Far East (1909), Inside Views of Mission Life (1913), and Ko Young Kyu Chun-Two Short Stories (1911). Second, Daybreak in Korea talks about one Korean woman who was brought up in a traditional Korean home and later believed in Christianity. Thanks to her faith, her life is dramatically changed, and her husband comes to believe in Jesus. Literary aspects of the fiction is analysed. Third, Ko Young Kyu Chun has two short stories: one is Ko Young Kyu Chun; the other is The Example of a Married Couple. Ko Young Kyu Chun aptly depicts the life of Ko Young Kyu who, at first, does not believe, but later believes Jesus, and have a happy family. The Example of a Married Couple vividly describes the portrayal of a Christian couple with the full extent of love. They are analyzed from the Christian point of view.
