Electro-optical characteristics of a reflective cholesteric liquid crystal display on PES substrate films

In this paper, we have investigated the reflective cholesteric liquid crystal display (ChLCD) on plastic substrates incorporating the horizontal polymer layer and vertical polymer walls. These polymer walls and layer were formed by irradiating selective areas through photo-mask and whole areas of a cell with UV light, respectively. Electro-optical response of ChLCD with polymer wall and layer was studied and compared with conventional bistable ChLCD cells.
