초록

This study examines how advances in digital technology have influenced the spatial and functional characteristics of university libraries. The rapid development of digital technologies in the twenty-first century has transformed the non-physical structure of information, leading to the reorganization of physical spaces and programs within university libraries. By analyzing cases of domestic university libraries that were remodeled or expanded after 2010, this research identifies and compares patterns of spatial and programmatic change. The findings indicate three major trends: a transition from collection-centered layouts to large, open, and flexible learning spaces; the emergence of archipelago compositions that support both individual and collaborative study within sensory-rich environments; and diversification of programs reflecting various learning styles, including maker spaces and curated thematic zones. These transformations reveal that the contemporary university library functions as a hybrid platform integrating learning, creation, and communication rather than merely serving as a repository of books. This study contributes to understanding the correlation between physical and non-physical transformations of university libraries in the digital era, providing a conceptual foundation for future facility planning.
