형용사(구) 형성에 대한 완료의 역할 연구

초록

In this paper, the phenomenon of how the morphemes of completive contribute to adjectival derivation is examined. It is considered a typical phenomenon of European participles. The verbal phrase sometimes presents the static situation like an adjectival phrase when it is conjugated with completive or past morphemes. These morphemes make the VPs to be static when it is conjugated with either passive or achievement verbs. In case that ‘-n’ is conjugated directly with the roots of the verbs, the verb is derived to adjectives on the lexical level. However ‘-eot-’ cannot make adjective on lexical level because it cannot delete the voice as well as the thematic role on the lexical structure. Despite the difference of morphological present situation between European and Korean adjectival categories, the universality of the role of completive morphemes for adjectival derivation is suggested.
