초록

Adsorptions of diphenyl ditelluride (DPDT) and 1-naphthyl ditelluride (DNDT) on silver and gold surfaces have been examined by means of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The aromatic rings of DPDT and DNDT appear to have a vertical orientation on Ag and Au surfaces. It was found that the Te-Te bonds of aromatic ditellurides were cleaved upon adsorption on the silver and gold surfaces. The vibrational wavenumbers and bond dissociation energies were estimated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations for a more convincing assignment. Copyright (C) 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
