The underlying mechanism for feeding information to Social Networks (SNS) users is operated on the principle of last come-first shown which ranks information in terms of its time of appearance. With this principle, information that might be perceived as important to a certain SNS user can be submerged by a lot of trivial information coming inconspicuously. In this paper, we propose a model to evaluate the importance of information based on what makes the information itself important the way it is perceived to be by SNS users. By using this model, information will be ranked with respect to its importance. Accordingly, only information that is likely to be perceived as important to users will be shown while the lesser would be discarded. © 2015 International Information Institute.
