In open environments such as parks, plazas, and university campuses, ensuring optimal auditory experiences for users during music and informational broadcasts while mitigating the influence of ambient noise requires meticulous consideration of acoustic pressure dynamics and spatial characteristics for speaker deployment. This study aims to develop a novel mathematical model for optimal outdoor speaker placement, specifically targeting university campuses and taking account of their spatial environmental characteristics, including speaker specifications and ambient noise levels. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed model, we apply it to the campus of Soongsil University in Seoul and derive optimal speaker installation policies. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the establishment of outdoor speaker systems, a field garnering increasing attention as part of soundscape design.
